wheel weight

Does anyone know what is the weight of the mag wheels of the 2000 LX pro?
I am thinking of buying the Rota Slipstream wheel, it weights 12 lbs for the 15 inch wheel. And it looks good. But if the wheels on my car are lighter then I'll keep them.

I assume you're talking about the 5-spoke alloys similar to the standard U.S. 99-00 ES wheels and optional 02 LX wheels.

I'm not sure if anyone has actually weighed one by itself yet, but some people have weighed them with tires, subtracted the weight of the tire and come up with 15.5-16 lbs. I find this completely believable because it's typical for factory 15x6 sedan wheels, and almost the same as the 94-95 Acura Integra GS-R wheels, which look almost identical.

The Rotas should weigh significantly less.

Thanx for the info...
I guess a 4-5lbs loss will be slightly noticable in the acceleration?
Is it worth the 950$ canadian?(taxes included)

where did you find these rota slipstreams? I might get a set and put autox racing tires on them :)

Yes... tell me about the rotas... are they 16s or 17s?

I believe in weight loss
the Rota slipstream in 15 inches weights only 12 lbs. It's only one more than volk racing wheels in the same size, but worth 3 times the price. They come in all reasonnable sizes..
Rota make wheels for Konig, thats why you dont hear about them a lot.
I think 15'' wheels are jsut the right size.Tires are cheaper, they are light, and provide a moother ride, less chance of breaking or bending the wheels.I love that wheel cause it gives the car a racier look, not like MOMO wheels they are a heavy POS to my opinion.
I have weighted both wheels and I can say that the momo wheel must have been almost twice as heavy as the rota slipstream.
And when you think of it,the wheels are almost directly related to the engine,so the lighter they are the faster you go!!

I,ve seen some posts in other forums saying that 17'' gave poor acceleration, well, DUH!!!!! A 30 pound wheel is for sure gonna slow you down!!

I found a few places where to buy them around montreal, and I got the cheapest price from a girl where I work, her bro holds a place called STREET DESIGN in montreal..
That B*tch (no offence) is like 22 y.o and she owns a 99 Type-R integra!!!!!!
I am jealous.

Yes I saw the slipstreams at a show in Toronto this weekend and they are pretty nice! And light too .. although there wasn't anyone around to get a price from :(

If you've never seen them, they are ripoffs of the Spoon wheels.
Chunky 5-spoke goodness. I have yet to find details on offset for these though. (left a post on Rishi's thread in the wheels section).

Here is Rota's broken web page for them:
