Wheel offset
 

I got a VERY important question for 18" or 19" wheels on a '02 P5. It seams like a +45 will BARELY clear in the rear. And a +47 will fit perfect. Is this right? With such a high offset like 47, is there any clearance problems on the inside against the strut? I need to know the EXACT offset needed to tuck a 18x7.5 OR a 19x7.5. My wheel company said they could mill them down to what ever i needed before they shipped them. Im going to be running airbag struts by the end of March and will be tucking the CRAP out of my wheels, so i need to know the offset BEFORE i order my wheels.

I think the standard offset for the wheels im getting is a +42, so i take it they will have to mill the mounting plate down +05 if i need to get a 47 offset to make them tuck?! PLEASE help me on this!!

Stock offset for a 7" wide wheel is +55
(MP3 and MSP RacingHart wheels)

So you can go very high with offset before having any kind of problems on the inside.

But if you're adding 0.5" to the width of the wheel... that is about 12 mm so you need to take off 6mm of offset to keep the wheel centered.

Your new offset on the 7.5" wide wheel would be +49mm. So the widely available 17x7.5 +48mm is pretty much perfect as-is.

I think that is correct.... :)

Is there any way to check that? A web site, etc. I'd hate to have them mill my wheels and them rub my struts! LOL With my current set of 18x7.5's i can barely fit my finger between the back lip of the wheel and the strut.
