Tires peeling on inside of fenders

Yesterday on my way home from work I was about half way home a heard a thumping sound from underneath the car. I pulled over on to the shoulder of the highway and looked under the car and found nothing. I looked at all 4 tires and they all had air in them. I continued to go down the highway further and heard it again, so I pulled over and looked at my front left tire and it had started to peel on the inside of the fender. About an inch and a half had peeled down to the belt. I drove about half a mile to a side road and put the donut tire on. I left work early that day to possibly trade the car in for a truck. I swear if the car was alive it would be pi$$ed at me for trying to get rid of it. Didn't have time to go to a tire place and get a new tire. So, this morning now I leave for work and I still have the P5 and get on the outside of town and the other front tire does the same thing. I drove the car 10mph to my parents house and now I'm driving my mothers car. Does anyone find this strange to them and think that they are falty tires? or is it just me. The tires are not even 2 years old and have about 34,000 miles on them. I wouldn't think they should have shreaded like that. What do you think?

Thanks,

Jamie

Did you actually measure the tire pressure? Your tires could be under-inflated, and overheating which can lead to de-coupling of the tread. Has the weather been hot where you are? - This could be an additional factor. Or you may have encountered some road hazard.
But then again, at 34 K miles, your tires are probably at the end of their useful life, anyway. With "performance" tires you can't expect too many more miles than what you already have on them.
