Which tires??

I need to get new tires for my P5. I'm looking at either the BFG Traction TA or Falken ZE512 in 205/50R16 size. What do you think??

ZE512 has a CR best all season tire rating. Good prices from Vulcan Tire over the internet. Just got a set on my Protege.

haha... I posted a thread on this a few weeks ago... NO ONE responded so I deleted it. I bought a set of BFG Traction T/A 205/50 V-rated. At least one of them is out of round--possibly 3. Can't get a clear answer on this from my tire shop. So, they're taking the BFG's back... they're LOUD--really really really loud. Good performance in the snow and slush though.
I'm replacing them with a set of Falken ZE512 205/45 V-rated. ;)
No silica compound means these will most likely be alot quieter. My best friend runs a set of these on his SVT Focus as winter tread. He's been happy with them. Mine should be here in a day or two. So I'll post back and let you know how they are.
BTW 205/50 is kinda tall... I didn't like the look, thus the 205/45 size. It's past my bed time...

Just got my Falkens. Wow! Not even broken in yet and they hold beautifully. Great response. EXCELLENT wet traction... it rained all day yesterday here in MI and the ZIEX handled flawlessly. As I suspected, tire noise is down. The lower profile look is also more appropriate for the car, IMO.
Unfortunatley it appears that I have another warranty issue with my protege. Less than 50K and it sounds like 1 or 2 of my universal joints is gone. Might also be a wheel bearing but I checked my boots... I've already had my front seat replaced (it came OFF the mount) and also the right front strut has been replaced once... damn thing is showing some ford despite being made in hiroshima.
Anyway--love the tires!
