Can someone explain to me how the rating of tires goes? V rated, and all that stuff?!?!

True, the speed rating applies more to the carcass of the tire than the tread. It's a reference to how stable and balanced the tire is, thus how safe it is to run up to a certain speed. Of course, the tread matters most when it comes to grip, and the sidewall matters the most when it comes to steering response and ride quality. So unless your Protege has a lot more power than stock, and you have access to the Autobahn, the speed rating really isn't the most important aspect of the tire.

What are the thoughts on Falken Tires?? I just bought a set of 205 40 r16 Falken ZE326's. I havent had a chance to try them out yet?? My factory Dunlop's were wicked in autocross. I ended up in the middle of the pack among moded cars. But there worn now.
