some questions about rims
Ok.. so this winter was a little rough on my wheels. Aparently I have two bad rims because of pothole damage. I'm taking this opportunity to get all new rims and tires. But since I've never done this, I'm still a little confused.
I've learned all about diameter, width, offset and bolt pattern. But I'm still looking for help on the rims themselves. What should I look for in a rim? Does a machine lip matter?I know lighter is technically better, but it doesn't mean stronger. What kind of construction should I look for? Solid or multi piece? Is there anything I should stay away from? Is there a manufacturer that I should stay away from or one that is better then the rest? I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg, but I want something the will be strong enough to take winters in Rochester, NY but yet still look good. Anyone want to educate me? |
