Shipping Rims and Tires

Hey guys. Was wondering what was the best way to package and ship 4 rims with tires mounted on them.

I'm selling my rims becuz i'm in need of some cash. They are 18" rims with low profile 215-35-18 tires. The rims by themselves weight about 22lbs. Should i let all the air out of the tires and box them individually to save on weight???

What do you guys think, and any suggestions would be great.

My atv tires came "banded" together (2 at a time), with cardboard pieces between each and at ends.

yes, let most of the air out but instruct the buyer to fill them up prior to putting any weight on the tire or you risk breaking the seal. nothing major just a headache...

also, I've gotten prices from shipping via Greyhound busses...it was CRAZY cheap and would get from Birmingham, AL to Chicago, IL in less than 24 hours!! no lie...go to greyhounds website and look it up.. The downside is you have to drive to your nearest bus station to do this...and for me it's almost 40 minutes away.

I would leave the air in, and put a piece of bubblewrap on each side of the wheel, followed by a piece of sturdy cardboard on each side. Wrap it with shrink wrap. Then, band it together tightly. This will keep the wheels from being scratched or otherwise damaged. If the Greyhound thing doesn't work out, UPS ground is an option, but it will not be cheap.

I suggest the above shipping method, as that is how my wheels came in from Edge Racing, and they arrived in perfect condition.

Thats how i got the tires, Strapped up, the rims came in boxes. Bought them seperately. I thought the strapped plan is the best. Does anyone know where i can get these straps (brands) from or have them strapped up for me?????
