Rubbing Problems
 

I have a P5 and currently running 215/40/17 White DTM

but found out that when the rear seat has 3 ppl siting , it will rubs so badly
like everytime i turn over 40km will rub ....
so i have to drive very slowly ......

problem is that
if i lower my car ?
will it rub even more ?

or i should change the tires to 205/40/17 ?

or i should change the rims instead
maybe the offset of wrong ?

I dont know anything about offset

so what is the best size for P5 that it wont rub for sure ??//
i wanna lower my car but i dont it rubssssss

first of all, the 205's are a smaller tire..they are shorter in width, not height. stick with the tires u have. The 215's are wider, and like pontiac..WIDER IS BETTER.
the wider the tires, the better the traction.

My suggestion is to get your shocks looked at. maybe you have a leak which lets the weight weigh down you car so they start rubbing. if thats not the problem... you might have to think about either gettin stiffer springs and shocks...or gettin back with teh 16's...

Hmm...I would think that the stock shocks are not hard enough or too soft to support the weight when turning. I would think some stiffer shocks would help, but I'm not a pro at this. :dunno:

I'll suggest two things to do if you can't afford to change the wheels.

1. Go with a 205/45/17

2. Buy the camber bolts that are offered for the vehicle. This will give you +/- 1 degree and will help out with your problem. I would just rotate tires frequently depending on how much negative camber is added.

why don't u just lip(roll) the guards?? its elatively cheap..just make sure someone with the right tools does it :)
