Protege 1.6 September-5th-2002 04:19 AM

Rota Subzero

Will a Rota Subzero 15-inch 15"x6.5" 40mm offset
fit Protege LX 2000 even when the vehicle is lowered???

I mean without no rubbing or major/minor problems...

Also, 7" 40mm wont fit, right??? According to Rishie's recipe...

SedanMan September-5th-2002 08:15 AM

Well I have some 16"x7" with 40mm offset and they fit fine with no rubbing. My car isnt lowered but if you read the fitment recipe, you'll notice that sedans get better clearance so you should be okay as long as you arent slammed on the ground.

I had 38 mm offset dropped with Eibach springs. No rub at all. Hard cornering or anything.

EDIT: They were 17's

KIncaid: Is your car completely wrecked or is it getting fixed? If it is wrecked are you planning on getting another Protege? Nice to see you back on the board again, hope you're doing well.

Sorry if this off-topic.

Doing ok now. Out of rehab now. Temp. brain damage.

Check the sig now for answers to questions :D

Kincaid, sorry to hear about your car. That sucks!

I suppose from the pictures that it's a right off.

Where did you buy your wheels and how much were they?

Kincaid September-6th-2002 07:52 AM

Bought them at a local speed shop. Retail ended up being more than $2000, rims and tires. Limited run by them. They only made the one. It was wheel 191. But you won't see it on their site or anything. They never made it well known. But if you call them they know about it. Never had them on a month before the writeoff.

But the wheels weren't even touched by the accident. Not a scratch or dent as none of them actually hit or touched anything. So I'm selling them if you're interested. Only looking for 1500 rims and tires. Both on the car and driven a month. Less than 500km wear on the tires.

Let me know. Thanks.

Kincaid, thanks for the reply. I will definitely keep those wheels in mind.
Are you sure about the offset of 38mm? Only reason I ask is from everything I've read from previous posts would say that those should rub.

Is there anything else you might consider selling? What type of exhaust did you have?

Is your insurance company being tight about removing any aftermarket parts?

Kincaid September-6th-2002 02:42 PM

No the offset on these is fine for the sedan.

I had mine dropped with Eibach springs. And even with hard cornering there was no rub.

Don't worry about the condition. They are perfect. You'd never even know they were on a car [and they barely were lol].

As for the exhaust that was just a tip. I got the stock tip cut off and that one welded on. Looked good without having to spend a lot on exhaust.

Please do keep them in mind. I've spread word over the last day so I doubt they'll be around for long.

In my opinion for this car they are the best style you can get. Let me know. Thanks.

Did you have an LX or an ES? I just always thought you had an LX with the front end of an ES.

Anyhow the question is to find out if the wheels are 4-bolt or 5.

Kincaid September-6th-2002 04:06 PM

You're correct. I had an LX with the front end of an ES.

They are 4 bolt in pattern. They'll fit yours no problem.
