yes, the MR8's should fit. I just bought the 17 " MR12's in gunmetal finish for my Protege5. I'm not using them right now because of the snow but we put them on the car the day I bought them and there was no rubbing at all.

With a +42 and 7" width, you are right at the threshold. It will fit if you use a 205/45/17, but you might rub by 1mm or so with a 215/40 which would be the preferred tire size. You can always get camber bolts for the rear and this will alleviate all your potential problems.
In all, I would give it a go, as the bolts are only like $50.00 or something and very easy to install. Rishie You will not encounter the rubbing issue until the vehicle is lowered and will only happen in the rear. |
thanx alot, i really liked the rims, wat exactly is a camber bolt? and if i dont drop it for a while do i need them, assuming i decide to go with 40's?

I don't think you will have any problems, unless you load up the vehicle with like 4 people. But you might not rub either, so just try it. No matter what, it can be fitted easily.
I will call and see what my price is on these wheels for you? Hopefully, I can get you a good deal. Rishie |
so heres the bottom line..on the P5..If i want 17 inch rims
can i get 40mm--42 mm offset? what tire size? 205/40 17 or 215/45 17? i dont intend on lowering..at least not for a long time and theres never anybody in the back well not very often |
I will call and get you good pricing.
Here's what you need though: Minimum of a +42 offset on a 7" wide wheel, diameter doesn't matter. If you have a +42 I would use the 205/45/17, no 215/40 or 45. That size is not an option unless you find a +44 or higher. What you want. 17,7 +42mm with a 205/45/17, the 205/40 will be too small and will result in accumulation of inaccurate mileage on the odometer. Rishie |
