larger rims affect on gas milage?
i just took of my 13's finally and put on 16" rims and i noticed a slight decrease in acceleration in 2nd gear and what seems to be a drop in my gas millage.... did the larger rims cause this? just wondering if this is just something normal to expect from moving 3"s up in rims

Might be, what tire size did you have before and after.
Also the rim weight will also have an impact. Again, what did you have rim wise before and after? |
anytime you add unsprung weight to the drivetrain, your gas mileage will suffer.

yea man. i got 17's and it does some work on my gas mileage. and they weight way more then the stock rims i had. so bigger rims can cause that problem.

i found an online calculate that tells you what tire sizes should go on what size rims to keep your odometer close to what it was originally... right now i have 16" primax rims with 205/40/r16 tires... the weight is deffinantly more than my american racing 13" estrella rims... thanks for the info... glad i dont' have to worry... guess i just need to save up and eventually buy some super light 16"s for the car....

hmm my stock rims were actually heavier than my 17's, but my stocks were 14" steel w/ hubcaps
