Firestone Firehawks

After 32,500 miles, my stock Dunlops were starting to show signs of wear. I was hoping to extend their life until the end of the summer, but then I ran over a screw and killed of one of my rear tires, so I ended up doing some quick shopping this morning.

I ended up with Firestone Firehawks. They're pretty pricey at over $500 for four, but the Goodyear Eagles were the same price, and the only other name brand available in my area (Continental) wasn't that much cheaper. I don't have time to order tires from far away, since I need decent tires for a trip this weekend.

Anyway, the Hawks are being installed even as I type this. I went with 205/50 R16's on the stock rims. I hope these work out OK and last longer than the Dunlops. I also hope they have better wet/winter grip than the Dunlops did.

I'll post a follow-up when I've had a chance to drive on them for a while. In the meantime, anybody else out there got Firehawks?

I guess they're OK. They don't look as cool as the Dunlops, owing to the bulgier sidewalls. They drive about the same; they might be slightly less grippy in some cases, but I'm not sure of that yet. Haven't tried them in wet or snow. They are a little bit louder on the freeway than the Dunlops.

I have the Firestone Firehawks on my 03 SE-R which are the stock tire and they have good handling and do well on wet roads. But the only problem I have is that they sux in snow. I went to a 15" alloy rims with 195/60/R15 Blizzaks WS-50s. Like dewey said alittle bit louded on the freeway then the Dunlops.
