changing air pressure when plus sizing

i read the other day that when plus sizing your wheel/tire combo, the air pressure in the tires should be increased. for example they say a honda civic

-with 185/65R-14.....28 psi
-with 195/55R-15.....32 psi
-with 205/45R-16.....36 psi

i never heard this before. is this common knowledge? something new? i read it here:

www.discounttire.com/helpDeskAirPressure.html

thanks.

the website says the "the air pressure increases with plus sizing to meet the load carrying capacity for the car."

they say that some tire dealers have "tire load/inflation tables" with the correct tire pressures for stock sizes and optional plus sizes as well.

This Discounttire info is geared towards retards who upgrade from 155/80/13 to 205/40/17 and maintain "manufacturer recommended tire pressure as specified in manual"
Shorter sidewall tires WILL need more pressure or you'll be riding on a rim.
Another point-If I switch from 195/50/16z(PR5 stock) to 225/35/16(just extreme example) I am not doing "plus sizing"-it stays at 16".
But if I keep recommended 32 psi I will break rim on first pothole.
