Car Wash damaged my TPMS valve stem, filed small claims suit

So I went to a car wash two days ago, and drove away seeing my TPMS light come on.

Ok, so I figured it was just time to fill them up might be running low, so I decided it just needed to be filled up perhaps. Noticed my valve stem was broken(hence the flat and the light).

My tires are basically brand-new.

Drove my car to Firestone, they charged me $216 for parts and labor(plus balancing).

I called Mazda they don't sell only the stem, but the entire unit, which is $97.

Called Autozone, got two quotes from them today, $116 for one brand and $59 for the other.

At any rate, I had no choice but to get my tire-stem fixed that very day.

Filed a complaint with the car wash. Waited two days for a response.

He called me this morning. Initially, he was going to offer me $35 in car washes as compensation(which I'd never use). Would you take your car back to a place that broke it?

Eventually he said he'd add $50 and the $35 certificate. Then he goes on about this diatribe about how he could get the same part off partsgeek for $35. I told him I didn't have 3-5 days at my dispensal to wait for a part. Plus there would still be labor.

At any rate he wouldn't offer anything else. He also proceeded to say that my car was 9 years old it was on it's last legs(again far from the truth). My car has always run exceptionally well, the only time it's let me down was for very minor things.

So, I paid the small claims court $116 to get that ball rolling, in addition to the $216 I had to previously pay. Basically saying he'd be liable for the damages and court fees.

The owner of the shop claims he's not liable for the damages, and has never broken a tire valve stem before.

What was the outcome of your small claims filing? Same thing happened to me.
