Buddy Club Rims

I want to upgrade the rims of my Protege5 from stock to a 17-inch set of Buddy Clubs. I want to keep the size of the wheel the same as the stock because I don't want to mess up the speedo and the odometer and also don't want the vehicle lowered to match a bigger wheel. Does anyone know what the aspect ratio should be if I decide to use a 215/17/?? tire and what about a 225/17/?? tire? Will there be any rubbing if I use too wide a tire like the 225/17? I, like most of you, got new wider wheels for better handling, looks but most importantly GRIP. I think the Protege5's stocks have way too little tread patch to harness the cornering power of the chassis and suspension. When I corner fast in most cars, the body roll is usaully the limiter. But in the Protege5 the lack of contact patch is.

The Protege MP3 has 17" Racing hart rims, find out the width and offset. Then you won't have tire rub and your speedo/odo should match up.

This should be in the Wheel/Tire section.

leungwingkei: what you are wanting to do is DOABLE....you are needing/wanting a tire with a diameter of 23.7 inches. That is the diameter of our stock Dunlops....as far as the tires you mentioned....from what I have read here and on other boards from the WHEEL/TIRE experts...if the wheels you have are of the proper offsets.....and you don't want a rub.....the widest tire you are going to be albe to go with are 215's.

if you go to www.tirerack.com you can do searches on different tires by size and it will give you all the information you could possible want.

I'll be contacting the buddy club importer on Monday. Finally have an established importer.

Get you specs and such on Monday.

thanks, Rishie
