Bigger Tyres

Hey Guys, I am kinda sick of the harsh ride. Unfortunately Cali rodes suck. Can I put a bigger tire on the OEM wheels? I was thinking of a 55 or 60 series. Will I be rubbin anything? Anyone tried this yet? Thanks!

Exactly where in Cali do you live. The roads around here are ok depending on where you are. Goodluck man

i live in Nor Cal, Bay Area. I drive 680 South every day and it sucks! The road is uneven and rocks everywhere. Would a 55 series tire look that bad? I might even consider getting 15 inch wheels. I don't particulary like bump ride cause it feel like my car is gonna break! LOL

I think the way to go would be a 15 or maybe even 14 inch wheel with a bigger tire. If you go to:
http://www.scirocco.org/ and click on tires, they have a cool calculator that lets you put in different wheel and tire size combos so you can figure out how to keep the total diameter the same. This way your speedo will still work.

By doing so, you'd throw your speedometer / odometer off...and just plain look silly.
I've got 195/60R15 instead of original 195/55R15 and now speedometer tell the right speed, not 10km/h lower speed like stock tires do. Odometer isn't that correct, it runs about 5-10% less than it should ;)
And about what it looks, well at least not like a tractor with stock suspension :)
