Best tire for 1st gen.

I am about to buy some tires for my stock 14" steelies. From what I have read, it seems the Falken Azenis Sport tires are the best choice. They would be used mainly for daily driving and occasional drag racing. Can anybody else support what I have heard or disagree?

The main thing I want out of my tires is traction off the start. The skinny tires I have now spin through the 1st three gears. Treadwear, road noise, and harshness are obviously a concern of mine, but I want the best tire that will give me grip for my 14" wheels for a good price.
