Just got some new wheels for my silver P5. They are 18"goivanna KOBE wheels with 215/35/18 toyo proxes tires on them. I bought them off a friend for $780.00, (perfect condition, 500 miles on tires, silver/polished lip) which I feel was a pretty great deal. They came off his 2001 eclipse (car was never lowered, barely driven) when he traded it in. Anyhow, I have them bolted on, but the car is not lowered yet. I don't know the offset of the wheel, he told me that they are +45 but I have no way to be sure. I'm sure you would probably know what offsets giovanna makes them in. Anyhow, the rear looks pretty close as far as wether or not it will rub when lowered, I just wanted your opinion as far as how much you think I can lower this car and still be able to drive it reasonably worry free?
I was going to get ground controls, but from the looks of it I won't be able to lower it more than 1.5-1.75" and still drive it anyway, so I was thinking of just going with springs instead because of the cost being less, however, I'd hate to buy springs and then find out that the car rubs anyway and I should have got the gorund controls to be able to raise the car higher. I see what you say about camber plates and rolling the inner fender lip and I want to know if this applies to my situation, and if so where can I get the camber plates and for how much, and if I camber the wheels in will I have issues with tire wear? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
