15" or 17"?

I want the Konig Heliums for my 323. Lightweight for a very good price. I'm debating whether to get the 15"s or the 17"s. Of course, before I researched them I wanted 16"s, but they don't make 16"s... Go figure. Anyway, here are the package prices shipped (from whalentire.com), also free mounting and balancing, I've heard nothing but good from whalentire.com.

15" Package:
15"x6.5" 12lbs.
Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 195/50/15
Tuner lugs included
$746.32 shipped

17" Package:
17"x7" 16.5lbs.
Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 205/40/17
Tuner lugs included
$974.32 shipped

I'm planning on getting probably Eibach (or something with a slightly bigger drop, maybe H&R) springs with the Tokico ZX2s at the same time as the rims, so I do it all at once and only have to get one alignment. Future plans are probably a KL-ZE. The rims will be mostly for looks, I dunno if I'll ever get into autox (though I'd like to). I'm afraid 15" would still look too small since I already have 14", and they don't look 'big' enough for me. It will look much better with a drop, but Eibach's are only an inch anyways. So confused! The nice thing about the 17"s is that they're still pretty light which is pretty much the only minus of larger rims.

Opinions appreciated.

Since you are going mostly for looks, go with the 17" wheels.
15's will be nice but they would not be as noticable as the 17's:D
and with the drop you're planning, 17's will look even better.
I had to go through that same thing when I was buying my wheels. I was debating between 16's and 17's and ended up with the 17's. So far, I am sure I made the better choice. The wheels look nice and perform very well also. I am just waiting for my Eibachs to complete the setup.
The only thing that'll suffer with the 17's is ride quality and they will possibly slower your accelaration, but you said they are pretty light so it shouldn't be that bad.

Do you have any pics of your car? I've seen you posting here for how long, and I don't think I've seen your car yet! :(

If you check out the real version of the Helium (Volk Race CE28N) they probably come in 16". I would say stick with 15 so your car does not look like an suv. IMHO there is not enough body work or brakes to make 17" wheels look like they belong.

I've never posted pics of my car on this forum. I've been pretty lazy to do that for the past year or so:D
I gotta upload some in the near future. I'll do it probably after I install my Eibachs:cool:

have you decided on the wheels yet?

I'm definately leaning towards the 17"s. I was hoping more people would reply, I sorta see what rjakobs is saying that they may look too big. I think they'll look good though, I'm going to be getting the Jspec front and rear bumpers like dru323 has on his. His car looks SUUUUWHEET, but I won't have my car slammed like he has his (3" drop I think), plus I think his wheels are still a little too small for my taste.

I've seen his car and it looks really nice. If you get the jspec body kit that means that you'll have to go with 17's for sure:D

17's are the way to go, no one will notice the 15's... Look at sign...

17s are a for sure get them in a 45 series tire and the ride will be nice and they look good. like the MP3 and mazda speed use a 45 series tire. and they look real nice IMHO

Thanks for the replies, guys. When I find out if I did my taxes right, I'm going to order the wheels right away. (17"s)

Oh, don't you worry about that... I'm doing that and my springs and struts all at once, so it'll be like a new, slightly less-ugly car :) hehehe
