14 inch wheels on Protege 5?
 

With a lot on snow in New Jersey this year I wanted to put snow tires on my
Protege 5.

I have some 185/70/14 snow tires. From the miata tire size calculator the speedo wouldn't be too far off from the 195/50/16 tires (OEM Dunlops).

I've seen some posts here that indicate some people may be using 14 inch wheels on their Protege5's. When I called tirerack they said they only sell 15 inch as the 14's won't clear the brakes?

Any Protege 5 owners care to set the record straight about this wheel size?

if you are going to run 14's, just make sure the steel rims you get clear the brakes.

I have 14" steel rims on my P5. They clear no problem.

Can't wait to put my original Mag wheels back on though!

14's will fit nicely. i had that size tire on my mp3. good fit.
