'04 3S sedan wheel replacement
Hi, all.
I just had a spinout on a wet road. Was going about 30-35 mph, rear passenger wheel hit the curb and broke a long fragment off the rim of my wheel. Still driveable, but needs replacing for safety. I bought the car used, and the previous owner had put some 17" wheels on. I don't know the manufacturer, but he did put 215/45 tires on. The shop said the wheels are wider than the factory 17", so I'm guessing 7" or 7.5" width. How do I accurately measure wheel width, and where might I look on the wheels to find manufacturer info / model for the wheel? Insurance will cover $125 for a replacement wheel and $125 for a replacement tire, so any tips on wheel vendors who can fit roughly this price range will be greatly appreciated! (Up to $150 is OK; $200 is not OK :P) Please feel free to point me at a FAQ if I missed one. I read the sticky, so I know my factory stock info is: 17x6.5 205/50 5x114.3mm 52.5mm offset I don't really understand what offset is, other than distance from the wheel/tire to the vehicle's body. Is this height? Thanks! |
