My car on vacation.
 

I went down to Southern BC a couple of weeks ago and here are a couple of pictures of my car on the road. I would have had more pictures but I was having too much fun driving.

I went from Edmonton -> Rocky Mountain House -> Lake Louise -> Golden -> Revelstoke -> Galena Bay (Where we took a ferry across the lake) -> Nakusp -> Needles (Where we took another ferry back across the lake) -> Cherryville - > Vernon ->Kelowna -> Penticton -> Osoyoos (our destination)

The drive from Revelstoke to Vernon was increadible! Very twist roads. Big grin on my face and a look of horror on my wife's :) :eek: ... all in all a good drive. I highly recommend this, and thanks to Rickard (90&00 Protege) for the route.

Here are a couple pictures off my digital camera, the rest are on film..have to scan them at some point. The shots from the ferry were cool.

This is somewhere between Nakusp and Needles. The whole drive was full of these signs. It was interesting that when the sign also had a suggested speed it was almost like a dare..."I dare you to drive this fast" :)

Wow, we were just in Kelowna this past weekend. We overnighted in Calgary with some friends first then left early the next mornng to go to Kelowna with them. Silly me, all the photos we took were of the scenery. Never dawned on me to take photos of the ride :D. As you say the drive was great and I especially enjoyed the Roger's pass. Loved the tunnels, hearing the intake as we went through them :cool:.

Came back via Rocky Mountain House and that's also a nice drive. Not a soul on the road which was strange. Saw several deer and a black bear and her cub on the side of the road. Gave us a chuckle, they waited on the side of the road until it was clear to cross.

I think next time we will drive to Vancouver and go the Jasper route and maybe came along the way.

I don't know man those pics look pretty sweet, what kind of cam do you have. Looks like at least a 2MP.....

Kodak DC210+. It is 1MP, and it has issues with natural lighting outside. I bought it 3 or 4 years ago, when they were REALLY expensive :(

We didn't see much for wild life on the trip. A couple of mountain goats and some cows....no kidding. And I did take more pictures than just the car, these were just the ones I posted ;)

What kind of milage did you get driving through the mountains? I think I was lucky to get 500-550km out of a mostly full tank. But then again my foot is pretty heavy (Only saw two RCMP on our way down!).

Actually we might have a few pics. My wife took over 150 photos with our digital and I am sure there are some shots of the car.

As for mileage, I have not calculated it out yet but we recorded it and use a spreadsheet to calculate everything. I think I was over 600 km per tank but I'll let you know. However, I must say, we tried to not use the AC too much to save the gas. With the moon roof open it was great. I did use the AC in Kelowna though, I could not believe the amount of stop and go traffic. Darn tourists :).

Saw several RCMP on the way down and back but they all had customers. Even went through a radar setup in Kelowna but no problems.

Oh by the way, we were also in Cherryville at a camp ground. Neat place. Some of the cabins are really tree houses. I think I will have to stay in one of those next time.

Jay, just checked my spread sheet and I got on average 32.6 mpg or 7.3L/100km. Not too bad. Most I got on the trip was 575 km and an average of 497 km for the trip. I can show you the sheet on Friday if you make it.
