Injen intakes Vs AEM short ram

Can anyone tell me where in Canada on the west coast would be the cheapest place to purchase one of these air intakes and which ones would be better and why?

I can't tell you where to get one form, except online but I know that the AEM is a shorter piping which puts the filter very close to the engine leaving it too close to the hot air, the injen system on the other hand gets the intake much further forward drawing cooler air, resulting in better output.

My suggestion is unless you got the $250 plus to drop right now, wait till more companies come out with a system and the prices should drop, I know that is what I am doing.

i ordered my AEM from protege5online.com ! except i had to wait a while cuz it was a new product from AEM.

Mitch is a great guy and very helpful! i got dinged by customs for the intake, but not the short shifter that i ordered from him about 1.5 months ago. :)

i think you can get it @ Lordco.

There's also a 604 protege club . there are a few vendors that frequent the board that might be able to hook you up with either for the cheapest they can sell them at.

As for performance of both, i have the AEM. the only gripe is that you can feel power loss on HOT, sunny days. i drive a 1.8L, so the intake sits DIRECTLY next to the engine, unlike the 2.0L where it points downwards.

just remember on the west cost, it rains --> which could lead to hydro lock in a CAI. i haven't heard of it happening to people A LOT though, only once in a blue moon.

I have the AEM intake and it works awesome!!! NO MODIFACATIONS needed. It also sounds wicked.
