Ok, so after looking at the December meet thread, I gathered that alot can't make it due to the holidays. So, I propose a Sunday meet, on either the 5th, or 12th of January at Silver City's reserve parking lot. It's a generally central location, with lots of room to park. I'm posting this well in advance so most people will be able to plan ahead. Select a poll option, and check back often to see when the actual meet will occur. Hope everyone can make it!

Ok, so I can't post a Poll (thanks to the stupid forum the way it is now) so just post a reply with one of the following options:

this is exactly why we can never get anything organized properly.

we're planning another one (only a handful of weeks after the first one) before the first one's even been finalized or anything.

too many cooks....

it just dilutes everything way too much. especially considering there are only like 10-15 from calgary on this entire forum let along those interested in meets.

He has a point. Just a suggestion: just get two people first. Then, if they enjoy each other then maybe more will come. But, like it was said long ago, a core group needs to be established first. So, someone that wants to start a group put the word out (which already has), then meet with that person with a time just you and him/her setup and more come great. Then once 'you' two meet; You can talk face to face and decide on another day to meet soon(er rather than later). So, the people that read about your meet will want to come. Start out small. If there is a small gathering, all be it 2, don't wimp out, take the initiative, that's part of being a leader of a group. Basically, don't warp the schedule around everyone else's schedule, have everyone wrap their own schedule around the meet. People that say they can't come is crappy, but there will be more meets, you don't need to have everyone in on one time.

I wish I was there to help out. We had/have a 'core' group, more like 'hard-core' group in pr5owner, Mesoh, and myself. It worked. Those who couldn't come, 'oh well', your loss. I remember the first meet we had at McMahon was fun to see everyone. It was great to have all the same cars in one spot! Then 'we' met in Reddeer, that was a blast, and driving to Sylvan lake, have the people heads turn as the yellow, silver, yellow, silver, yellow, silver, cars passed, was equally a blast! Then Em, Dave and I met up at CB's drive inn. Then DaleK came. It was nice to meet Dave's fiancee, Em's friend, and Dale. (*sorry I couldn't remember the names, Dale's was easy)

Just don't give up. Start small. That's how everything starts. You never know, what it is going to grow into. Just pick one day and stick to it, even if only 2 can make it!

i thought 9 of 12 that can make it was pretty good though. oh well.

Majority rules! Chose a day. Now I understand why Mesoh is so frustrated! Becareful people, everyone is going to get frustrated and just up and leave: Don't let this happen to 'you' all. Someone just pick a day in 2 weeks(or whenever, the sooner the better and the sooner, the ball starts rolling) and that's all. It's called commitment. Learn it.

silvercity isn't a general "central" location, its like far north, we need to meet somewhere downtown where everyone has to travel the same approx. distance

i know the december thread suggested somewhere on centre stree which seems ok too.

i don't know. central's good. i'm coming from the far south. far north ain't so good.

No 'you' don't. 'You' set a place and if people are really interested; they will come. They are cars, use them, that is half the fun,....getting to the meet. Set it any place, just start a meet. It is not hard. It might take some repetition but, that is the cost. 'You' all have already started the formation with joining the club here. Take the initative.

I wholly agree! Set a date. January, Febuary,...start 2003 as the time to form something! M, PM Maxx and start there, he also seems to be really interested in starting something then, maybe alco can make it too, when he isn't busy, sometime.

honestly, if i were to make an executive decision, which i can't b/c no one can really:

i'd say, let's leave the january thing alone until we see if we can actually pull off the december one.

a vote on date's been done, 8 of 12 chose the saturday (including votes for "both")

i'm the only one that voted sunday only but i'll try my best. like i said in the other thread, plans on saturday night but i may be able to swing it.
