GI ONLY!! seriously...just for now...

I want to guage interest to see who would be down for some P&P work done by Extrude Hone if I were able to negotiate special pricing?? I have owned a contour SVT which is basically a Contour SE with just an extrude hone intake maifold and it made over 30hp difference in the two.

I've spoken with EH and the tech I talked to knew exactly the manifold I was talking about and guesstimated it would be a 10-25whp gain over stock with no other work done. This is basically for their Stage 2 P&P with gasket matching. What is required is that your Intake manifold be completley stripped of all nuts, bolts, hoses, etc... and a new intake manifold gasket included. What they will do is use the gasket as a template for how much material can be removed and not be restrcited by the gasket. Then they flow a 2-way liquid abrassive puddy back and forth through the manifold. Using this liquid puddy siumulates air flow and how it will move through the chamber. People with dremel tools can't do that. Regular retail pricing on this is $445 + return shipping for the stage 2 P&P w/ gasket matching. Stage 1 P&P is only $365+return shipping. This is unbelieveable even at retail pricing.

the down side is you would either need to be out of your car while it is being down or you'd want to purchase a second intake manifold and ship it to them. I will be shipping them a second manifold. Once it comes back Im going to polish it to a mirror finish to add a nice touch under the hood.

This is a great idea for anyone wanting to stay NA and take full advantage of those intakes and cams. Just let me know if anyone is interested in this.

p.s. It will take several weeks for the work to be done and sent back to you. Plan on this.

Phantom Cruiser May-26th-2004 09:51 PM

you trying to take all my money?

03ESPro May-26th-2004 10:30 PM

I would love to get this done, but the money just isn't there right now....I've also got several parts on my Explorer that could use it.:tear:

yeah, I'm not out to get ANYONE's money. I only want to get this done on my car cheaper! If it involves me spending time and phone bill to help everyone get a good price I'm in for it!

This is SUCH a good deal/service. I really have to find a used head and intake manifold to tear down for this.

 i'm only teasing. my cars demand $$ to be spent on them. first up is the cams, i really want those.

I'm working on that as well. Hopefully I will be able to take over that for Andy since he's covered up and get everyone taken care of.

FWIW, I'm interested, but don't think I can have my P5 down until I get my GTP back on the road. Still waiting on a cam, flexplate, header, intercooler and double roller timing chain on that. Even then, I'd rather wait until late fall or next spring when I have more $ to throw at mods.

GNO, know anyone who may want an M62 from a bonneville? I'm cleaning it up now and checking it all out. It's pretty dirty but it'll look brand new (aside from some scratches in the nose drive) when I'm finished. The rotors are still fully coated and make no noise or shaft play. The blower doesn't have a pulley though so you'd need to re-use your old one if you decide to keep it as a spare...or for porting...wink wink.

GNO June-10th-2004 07:13 PM

Sorry. We mainly play w/ M90s and M112s now. Although its damn tempting for me to put on my P5.

Roddimus Prime June-10th-2004 08:07 PM

nah, not feasible on the p5....been there done that....thats why I'm trying to sell it!

Poseur June-28th-2004 06:06 AM

Perhaps you could work out some sort of "pass along" replacement manifold setup.... depenfing on how long it takes to do and how quickly/responsibly ppl will turn them around... That is unless they're gonna want them all at once to do.

Roddimus Prime June-28th-2004 08:03 AM

I would do that if I had spare manifolds laying around or if I was making some kind of profit to where I could afford to buy spare manifolds.

This was just to see if anyone wanted to get theirs done when I do mine for a better price.

Poseur June-28th-2004 07:35 PM

my thought was more like if there were a collective spare, ti could be passed around seeing as I'd asusme that your extra would be of little value to you after your initial one was honed, Wasn't exactly sure on the timeline specifics, but seems like a convenient way of taking care of a group to me.

Thatsaid. mild interest over here. though I'd like more solid application-specific dyno-tests or whatnot.
