Upper Midwest Meet

Just for a general idea who would be interested in an upper midwest meet

mazdamp3_18 October-23rd-2001 09:12 PM

I would be interested in a meet. I live in ann arbor michigan. I just purchased a Yellow MP3. I LOVE IT. let me know if you want to have a meet.

There are a couple of us in IL, what would be a central point for us to meet? Somewhere in IN?

jking October-23rd-2001 09:53 PM

Yea IN would be a pretty clost to a central point for our 3 states. There is also another member that lives like 20 mins from me that might be interested in going. I dont think I would want to travel more then one state away. Cause if you consider drive time unless we get a hotel or something. That could be 8hrs driving both ways.

Im in

I would be willing to meet up somewhere. I drive a Classic Red Pr5 btw. Anyway just keep me posted, I will probably need a week in advance so I can schedule around it. Anyway, like I said just lemme know the dates and I will be there in a second. Later on.

Sure, I am in.

Is anyone still interested in this meet happening? It looks like we have about 4 people in the Chicago area, 2 people in the Columbus area, and 2 people in the Toledo area. Looking at a map, it looks like we have two options for a meet. Indianapolis or Fort Wayne, IN. Indianapolis is close to half way between Chicago and Colombus, at about 3 hours drive either way, but 4+ hours from Toledo. Fort Wayne is closer to the Toledo area, but further from Chicago and Columbus. I don't know anything about Fort Wayne, but Indianapolis seems OK, especially if we can find a weekend when something worth seeing is going on there. I guess it would depend on who was going to go? I'd definetly be interested if we could get most of us to go.

I'll go for sure if we get a decent amount of people to go. I would definitely want to stay at a hotel though. Maybe we can get there mid afternoon meet everyone goto dinner and something else then next day go cruisin or whatever. Once we find out who all is going to go we can start making some plans. Trex and I could follow eachother up he lives pretty close to me

jking November-4th-2001 12:52 PM

I'm thinking maybe next spring unless we do it very soon.

Eric F November-4th-2001 04:08 PM

We can spend this winter trying to recruit some more upper midwest members. :)

TrexPro5 November-4th-2001 04:44 PM

..

sounds like a plan!

I'm in the Detroit area. If you wanted to come up here I could arrange a day at Kart2Kart...an indoor kart racing facility. Good way to meet people! We could get pizza and race!

check it out at www.kart2kart.com

Eric F November-9th-2001 08:36 PM

I don't know if that would be fair. You've got too much experience. ;) It would be great to see the race car and pick your brain about the Protege though. Hmm, how many hours is it from Chicago to Detroit?

GNO November-9th-2001 09:19 PM

My club got together at an indoor track this summer. What a blast! However, there were a couple of big guys in the group that didn't have as much fun.

Trust me, my 6'4" 250+ lb. frame doesn't allow me to set the world on fire in a kart! :)

Actually, there's one in Indianapolis, too. Stephan Johansen's. The karts are a bit faster, but they slide around more...you race on polished concrete.

Don't think I could justify driving the rally car all the way to Indy, though. That would be brutal.

Where would the meet be at??? I live in Missouri

gi_jason82 November-16th-2001 11:29 AM

hey, I'm in too. I live in Wisconsin. I think I'm the only guy with a modded Protege, besides one MP3 owner I've seen. Too many "Tuned by Stickers and clear tail lights" Civics. :the finge
I love kicking their candy-asses!!!:D
