Racing in Michigan

Hey, folks -

I just wanted to share some exciting details on legitimate drag racing here in Michigan, for those of you who want to see what your Protege will do in the quarter.

Head on down to Milan Dragway. It's $35.00 to run in the brackets. In bracket racing, you will qualify your car to find out what it will run. Then, it is either paired with a similar car, or given a headstart if paired with a much faster car.

Anybody can race anything in the Bracket races. This weekend, I saw a lightly breathed on SRT-4 run low 14's. A Civic with a few bolt-ons ran mid 16's. A Suburban ran 18-second quarter miles. Then, there was the Willys that did an impressive 206mph run. Lots of ten second muscle cars. Your chances of winning anything are pretty nil. But, you are out there to have fun, right?

I have to admit, this time I just went to watch the races. But, if you want to race, this is a good way to do it. Cheap, safe, sanctioned, and convenient - bracket racing is put on several times a week.

The Civic at Milan was a black 2-door coupe, 2000 model year plus. No blue Civics at Milan that day.
