Meet in DeKalb, Illinois
 

Wondering if you guys would like to have a meet in DeKalb at our Park? It is not that far from those of you in Northwest burbs or those around the Chicagoland area. DeKalb is just off of I-88 tollway. I know that we would not have a problem with the cars in this park. No tree police bringing us down. We could have another cookout. I am going to check with them about permits and see about getting a shelter. I might be able to swing some protegeclub members from Rockford area and maybe further down south. Dates to shoot for
October 12th, 26th, or November 2nd. What do you guys think?

I can do either October 12th or November 2nd (might be a little chilly in November for a cookout, but I have no problem with meeting up).

Okay, those that have responed via pm have said that next weekend looks good. (Oct 12th) I am getting a permit for one of the shelters at Hopkins Park in DeKalb. I will get a map posted shortly.
I am going to go scope out a spot after work today and I have been in contact already with the park district director and there won't be problems with plates and that shit that happened at busse. Lets shoot for 1:00 on Saturday Oct 12th.

Post it here if you are going to be able to make it and what you can bring. I am going to check on if the shelter has a grill. If not I will bring mine and maybe Kory can bring his too.

I'm in for chips (fruit salad really isn't in season right now). If you want me to bring anything else, just holler.

I got a glass bottle thrown at my car today while i was parked in my work parking lot and the asshole says he ran over it..... If he ran over it how could I have the dent and paint missing off of the top of my hood????????? Gotta file a Police report tomorrow....

Oct 12: Illinois ProtegeClub Meet
 

So far we have Kory, Conrad, Dale, Identity_X, Arul?, Pat, and me.
Kory is going to bring his little grill, Dale is bringing chips, and I will bring my grill and burgers? Is that what we would like? I know there are one or two vegitarians? What would they like me to bring? Sound good. Lets keep this thing rolling. I went and checked out the park last night after work. There is two spots that I think are the best. One is right at the enterance to the park. There you can see us from the road and plenty of parking. The other spot is back in the park with plenty of shade, picnic tables, and parking. I will let you know and be sending out directions soon.

so it's sat. 10/12 at 1 o'clock, we some directions, and probabally somebody's cell # incase ne1 gets lost....

Regarding cell phone numbers:

Might I suggest that EVERYbody who plans to attend e-mail their cell phone number to Patrick? (SLPRProtege)

The directions to Hopkins Park in DeKalb.
Take I-88 west out of the city.
Take the Peace Road Exit. (40cent toll)
Turn right on to Peace Road.
(2 miles)Hang a left at the 1st stoplight (Lincoln Highway IL38)
(3 miles)Turn right at the 3rd stoplight (4th street IL23)
Now you are going north
Stay on fourth street for a while
It will make some curves
(4 miles)You are going to go through I think 5 stoplights
Turn left on East Dresser Road (Across from Autozone)
That is enterance to hopkins park

From where I-355 and I-88 meet it is about 35 minutes to DeKalb

If you get lost call my cell. If you dont have it, email me and I will give it to you.

If we need soda or food, there is a jewel that you will pass. We can stop there and get some snacks.

Now I have picked out two spots that we can set up at. Right inside the enterance, there is a lot that will work but there is no picnic tables. So I would have to bring a folding table and lawn chairs. Or we go farther back and get tables in the shade. I think we can decide when we get there. It is not going to be crowded. Sort of a little park. See you all Saturday.

There is a very slight chance that I might be able to make the meet this weekend. I have some details to work out. Pat Hansen....send me your cell phone number again. I lost it.

If I show up, I will definitely bring something to contribute.

There may be a possibility for me to go on Saturday, but I have to see about making arrangements since my wife works and I usually watch my three girls (she takes the P5, I have the MPV).

We should do a local meet, maybe a "mod" night or something at my house.

For all the rest of you out there that lives in the area (First geners esp.), this might be one of the last meets this season. Winter comes around here might quick and the ole snow wheels and tires come out. Those of you in Rockford, I know your out there, come down to DeKalb and hang out with us. Those around chicago, you get out here too. Come out to the middle of the Northern Illinois Corn fields. I will see all of you at Hopkins park tomorrow around 1:00.

I will definitely be there.

Pete sure, I have no door panels in it or rear package shelf, and the lovely smell of sound deadener.I have been working on a new sq oriented stereo system, and have had no time to finish all the crap I need to do to it before it gets to cold. the race is on!!!:eek:
