Mazdarevitup.com coming to MPLS

Anyone sigened up for the mazda rev it up cometition June 7 & 8? I signed up yesterday for the 7th at 9am. I doubt I'll win, but it sounds like a great opportunity to learn some racing techniques, and go like hell in th 6. My fiancé also signed up, I hope it doesn't rain, should be a good time. Who else is signing up??

sileighty21 March-9th-2003 06:37 PM

My soon to be wife and I are signed up for group 10 at 9am. I hope it's nice out. Those pices from the bay area event look great, can't wait.

Mark_02DX April-17th-2003 05:20 PM

I'm psyched already...

You know, there's a Perkins restaurant about a mile from the fairgrounds. Breakfast, anyone? "Proteges Invade Perkins"?

I'd be game for that. Since my wife and I are racing at 9, it would have to be earlier in the morning, but i'd like to have the opportunity to wish everyone good luck.

Mark_02DX April-18th-2003 05:08 PM

How's this: 7:30ish or maybe 8 on Sat. morning, at the Perkins at Co Rd B & Snelling? it's about a mile (or less) north of the fairgrounds, right by Har Mar Mall.

Not much of a morning person, especially on Saturdays, but just hook me up to an IV full of coffee, and I'll be fine...maybe the caffeine will make me faster, too...

Kopp0041 April-20th-2003 10:58 AM

7:30 sounds good, I'll want to let my food digest. Anyone else interested?

Rev it Up Planning post

I've been in contact with some of the people putting the RevItUp competition together and they are wondering if we have any banners to promote the club. I already sent an email to the admin, waiting to see what he says.
Also, It sounds as though they might need some help setting things up, I'll keep you updated, but is anyone right off the bat interested in helping out?
Perhaps this is the time to get some TC or Twin Cities ProtegeClub.com stickers printed, what do you think?
That's all I got for now, I'll keep you updated. Oh yeah, sign up for the event if you haven't already, people are having a blast there.

jlanger May-10th-2003 09:47 AM

As I signed up for the butt crack of dawn #3 on the 7th, I'll be most likely unable to attend the breakfast, but hey you'll just get the chance of trying to beat my time!!:p Anyway, I'll see you there!

good0177 May-10th-2003 01:00 PM

My wife and I are both signed up for the Group 12 (9:20 registration time) race on Sat. June 7th. We would be happy to meet up for breakfast and to try and fill up Perkins' parking spaces with Mazdas. We also would be happy to help up with setting up anything related to our club spot (i.e. chairs, signs, banners, etc.) Keep me posted and you'll see me practicing on the streets (any police officers reading this, please disregard the last statement. Ha.). Peace.

Mark_02DX May-10th-2003 02:18 PM

I'll be at Perkins for breakfast at 7:30 on the 7th, stickers in hand...I'll even help apply 'em, if people need help. And I'll be happy to help set up. I have plenty of time; I'm in Group 19, I don't sign in until 11:00.

MazdaMagDude May-19th-2003 11:01 AM

We'd love to have you all join us in Las Vegas in October as well! You can read about the 2003 ALL-Mazda Nationals here!

i am very upset now. i just remembered that the rev it up is on the 7th and 8th. i really wanna go, but the problem is that i am having surgery on my wrist this thursday to repair some torn ligaments. i'll be in a cast for 8 weeks. man, this is gonna suck big time. no fishing, no rev it up, no swimming, and most importantly, NO BASEBALL!! aaaaaahhhhh.

Mark_02DX May-27th-2003 05:22 PM

Aah, just leave it in second gear and drive one-handed...:D

Hope you heal quickly... Are you still going to come check things out?

Kopp0041 May-27th-2003 07:50 PM

Do we know if we're using manuals? I thought the rumor was automatics, which if that's the case, it won't be as big a deal. At least it's not your right leg!, might be hard to hit the accelorator.

Mark_02DX May-27th-2003 08:36 PM

Oh great. So we have to shift, but try to remember not to step on the nonexistent "clutch." Should be interesting.

sileighty21 May-28th-2003 10:07 AM

i'm definetly planning on coming out to check things out still. i just won't be able to drive. i'm pretty sure they wouldn't let me anyways with a cast on my arm.

sileighty21 May-29th-2003 08:12 PM

well i'm back from the hospital now. damn does it hurt like hell. they put some pins in my wrist to hold it all together. i have a soft cast/sling for now. i go back on the 10th to get a hard cast which will be on for 6-8 weeks. they gave me some percicet too. very nice:D
