Free Pro photo shoot for people in STL

Just a shout out to anyone in St Louis with a nice Mazda. I'm a Pro Photographer, and to help the site and it's members I'm offering a free shoot for anybody who can meet me in West County. I work from home, so have the time to do it. The pictures I take will be given to you on a cd after the shoot - and I'll also post them on here. All I ask is that make sure the car is CLEAN when you show up :)

If interested, just send me a PM.

I may drive up and get this done myself. I've got a lotof vacation time coming up and I'm always up for a roadtrip. The only catch is that my car will probably be nasty by the time I get there! Maybe we can spend an hour touching it back up!

BOOSTD 7 April-23rd-2007 06:31 PM

Ha, sure thing bro. You're free to stay with me for a couple days if you want.

KrayzieFox April-23rd-2007 06:45 PM

Damn ... if only STL wasn't like 5 hours away I think I'd do it. Hell, I might just do it anyway when school is done. Not like I'll have anything better to do anyway. Thanks bro, that's a great deal!!

Get that turbo kit on, come down for a shoot, and I can get you a hook-up for some cheap dyno time here in STL.

KrayzieFox April-23rd-2007 06:55 PM

Hmm, that's two birds with one stone!! I thought it was a bad idea to dyno with an automatic tranny tho? True/False?

Roddimus Prime April-23rd-2007 07:32 PM

AWD dyno time?

BOOSTD 7 April-23rd-2007 07:33 PM

The one I have the hookup for is a dynapack ... I think there is an AWD dyno here in STL though.

What all have you done to your Speed6?

Roddimus Prime April-23rd-2007 07:56 PM

right now I've got a 3" catless DPand mazdaspeed CAI. I've ordered the upgraded TMIC, silicone hoses, rear engine mount, XEDE piggyback, HKS ssqv bov and adapter and a borla muffler and 2 tips for making my own exhaust. I'm getting shafted by one of my favorite vendors though so I'm a little sore on this subject. I ordered this crap back in october and haven't gotten it yet.

BOOSTD 7 April-23rd-2007 09:52 PM

Damn, get all those goodies and come on up!

KrayzieFox April-23rd-2007 10:07 PM

Roddimus are you really gonna drive up all the way from Alabama?

EDIT: Well .. now that I look at a map of the US I guess it's not THAT far. It's probably closer than it is for me actually ..

dentinger April-23rd-2007 11:11 PM

ive been dying to take my mazda on a road trip.. too bad St. louis is way to far for me :P...

but 5 hours away is nothing... ive done like, 30 hours or so from my house in southern Ontario to my grandparents house in Tampa Bay, Florida

Roddimus Prime April-24th-2007 07:13 AM

i drove from Washington State to B'ham, AL last year....wasn't too bad.

BOOSTD 7 May-10th-2007 10:41 PM

Just wanted to bump this up, since I know a lot of guys are watching the new post ticker now ;)

Anyway, if you know of somebody in the St Louis area who might not be a member on this forum, tell them to sign up and post here. I've seen quite a few nice Mazdaspeed Protege's in town, they'd be great for a photo shoot.

Ryan, I'd like to get with you about doing this sometime soon. If it's possible I'd like to pick up some speakers while I'm there! Kill 2 birds with one stone.

How are you with a digi-cam? I've got a new mini-dv cam that I'd like to get some good video with. I'd like to try my hand at simple video editing.

BOOSTD 7 May-15th-2007 08:41 PM

Hey daddio, might have a perfect set of speakers here for you. They're Wharfedale Evo 30's ... for now  They're nice speakers, but the problem is the tweeter they use is average at best. I'm going to replace it with something far better and totally redesign the crossover network. The cabinets are pretty cool too, well built and good looking with a teardrop shape - but one of them has a couple dings in it. So the plan is to fill the dings in with high bond filler, prepare it like a car and sand it all down, then lay an automotive gloss finish on 'em. The two colors I'm considering are a high pearl titanium silver, or Ferrari Red!

How would you feel about having some speakers in the house done in an automotive finish? If you like the idea, what color would you want?

That's actually a trend now in higher-end speakers ... talking 10,000+ a pair speakers. And I guarantee they'll sound fantastic after I work my magic :D

Roddimus Prime May-15th-2007 09:41 PM

damn, silver all the way.... How much do you want for them? Is this a 5 speaker set or 7 or what? I'm still shopping for a decent receiver. Any suggestions? I think 7 speakers will be overkill for such a small room.

BOOSTD 7 May-16th-2007 12:13 AM

Not sure on price yet, I'll have to see how much the body shop charges to finish them ... but I'll offer them to you at whatever cost I have in them. Right now I just have the front two, but could easily make a center channel to match. For rears there are any number of good bookshelf speakers I can recommend ... or I could build you something for them as well. 7.1 would probably be too much for that room, since the rear surrounds in a 7.1 system are meant to be placed well behind the seating position.

As far as receivers go, they change so quickly that let's wait till the time comes to give any advice.

Roddimus Prime May-17th-2007 10:19 PM

yeah, I'm in man...just let me know what you want for them. I'd like a matching set if possible ....just tell me what it would run me and I'll budget it in.
