I have seen here and in many other sites questions and wrong ideas about the way that an HID bulb works . So to clear all the questions and to stop people from buying normal halogen bulbs for 300 plus bucks here is a picture and a few links . The most common is the 9004 is the one you should use in the 1st gen protege

I just installed McCulloch HIDs 8000k about 3 days ago. I am very satisfied and they look great. Very easy to install since I am a newbie to doing mods. I attached some photos of the lights on during the day and in the evening. Hope this helps.

Im changing my first gen headlights to glass spec Euro headlight pattern ill post some pics when i have them installed. Im still thinking about HID has anybody ever put HID in a first gen?

Yea i could not go back to regualar halogen bulbs. I installed 8000k HIDS in my 3, Its an M-Tec...directly from Japan. Works great!
