I have seen here and in many other sites questions and wrong ideas about the way that an HID bulb works . So to clear all the questions and to stop people from buying normal halogen bulbs for 300 plus bucks here is a picture and a few links . The most common is the 9004 is the one you should use in the 1st gen protege

I just installed McCulloch HIDs 8000k about 3 days ago. I am very satisfied and they look great. Very easy to install since I am a newbie to doing mods. I attached some photos of the lights on during the day and in the evening. Hope this helps.

Yea i could not go back to regualar halogen bulbs. I installed 8000k HIDS in my 3, Its an M-Tec...directly from Japan. Works great!
