Colorado

I know there's already a few existing CO members on the board, but I keep seeing new people signing up with Colorado in their locations. Chime in on this thread! Where are you located at in Colorado? Maybe we can all meet up someone and go for a joyride, or just shoot the bull for a bit.
I'm in Parker, CO. That's between Aurora, and Castle Rock.

Hey....
I'm located in Westminster, CO.... I have my 1st Gen Pro, 4WD... not flashy or fast, but it got around during that last snow storm we had a bit ago.
Wait till I get the GTX conversion done to it, then it'll take off like a rocket...

my car was nice and warm in the garage during that snow storm. for three days straight, while i tore around in an F150 lol. my car would not have made it. that picture in my sig (driving side, not parked) was taken leaving westy.

I hear ya! There did come a time when the snow was reaching high enough that my car was starting to become high-centered and even with all 4 wheels spinning at the same time, it wouldn't go anywhere (without me getting out and pushing a little). I soon has to park it and get out my 4x4 K1500 Chevy sport truck. That then let me get in and out and around. I spent about 15 minutes digging it out.. or better yet, going back and forth till I got good enough clearance and out of the snow. But, I was still very impressed with the car when I was out driving it around the streets and all around me were these tall 4x4 trucks and SUV's; not a single other car.
Anyhow, I'm just about done with my audio setup... Hopefully it'll sound decent (installing the last component, the subs)...

Waddup yall. I live in Denver by Dave and Busters. Im still looking for a 1st gen PRO, but havent had any luck finding one yet. Oh well guess I still keep lookin. Well have to meet up sometime once I get my car and shit. Peace

Hey Protege91LX,
Welcome to the Colorado forum here...
Having problems finding a 1st Gen Protege, huh? Have you tried looking on Trader Online ? I just did a search for some 1st Gens with a radius of 100 miles of my zipcode... I saw a couple good possibilities. There's always the Denver Marketplace too. I haven't seen any 1st Gen Pro's on Ebay in the Denver area, though. I'd sell you mine, but I've got plans for it such as a GTX conversion and make it one fast boy. I already got a not-bad sound system installed. Now I just need more power

Yea, ive looked in both places and havent found "the" one for me yet i guess you could say. Oh well more time waiting, equals more money for mods. I want to do a bpt swap in very soon. Thanks for the welcome!

protetype May-21st-2003 11:21 AM

Welcome to the board... i'm sure you'll find one soon enough. I see plenty of them around. There's gotta be a couple for sale around here. :) Are you checking the news paper as well? I used to see a lot of first gens in the classified section.

I'll be moving to the Springs in 2 months. YAY!

Protege91LX May-22nd-2003 04:33 PM

Now, once I get my PRO, I want to do a BPT swap within the first 2 or 3 months I have it, is there a shop or anything in Colorado that is experienced with pro's? Or would I have to try and do it myself, I could do it, i just dont have the tools.

sirfei May-24th-2003 01:13 AM

I hear you... I'm looking for a place I might be able to do something like that myself (seeing how i want to drop a GT-X motor in my 4WD). I don't have the tools, but I can't see I'm very mechanically inclined either. However, if you've ever heard of Westwood College, they have an automotive section and they will work on your car (for the purpose of learning, of course) for free, all you have to do is give up your car for a bit and pay for parts (but NOT the labor!!). The only downside is that it may possibly take a bit longer than a shop would take as they will be using it over a period of classes, but done by professionals. The only thing about that is that because I'm not in the class, I'm not allowed to help really so I don't get to learn myself.
Anyways, good luck finding a Pro.. if you want to do the BPT drop, just find yourself a Pro that will support that kind of swap and get it! ANY Pro you find is almost always going to cost something extra to get it going. I still have a little body damage I'm looking to repair plus new exhaust system, paint job, windows tinting, and the engine swap (which will include Cluth and trans). It will be a good while before ALL these things are done.

Protege91LX May-24th-2003 07:29 PM

Well I found a 91 LX. If everything goes well I should have it on Monday. WOOOO HOOO! BPT here i come, thats the 3rd mod im gonna do, swap that fucker in and 13s all day.

sirfei May-27th-2003 09:37 PM

GoodLuck, Protege91LX....
Tell me how the swap goes. I'm going to be doing the same soon as I find someplace I can do it...

protetype May-27th-2003 11:35 PM

check out PAC Motorsports... they're a kick ass shop. They used to be exclusively Honda & Acura... but have recently expanded their business to do whatever is dropped in their laps. They do exceptional work... That's where I've been taking my pro. If you need, I can get you a number for them. We should all hook up sometime and get some pictures of the Colorado people's cars.. :)

Protege91LX May-28th-2003 10:10 AM

HELL YEA. I got a 91 with 107k miles on it. Its very clean inside, the body has few dents but those I can fix no problem. I just have to replace the trunk, there is a pretty good size dent on it. I was suprised at how quick it was, i was expecting it to be very vry slo, but its not to bad. Its white. I really like it and cant wait to start modding. Im down for the picture whenever.
