Matt...autocross update. Nowish

So...late update. The parents are coming into town this weekend. If I get to come at all, it's going to be race day only. And even then only for some of it. If I'm lucky. We'll have to see.

I'm not 100% sure about sunday yet. I think after todays 12hr day I can make it happen but it's not set in stone yet. I may tell them to not be surprised if I call in sick on sunday.

Dunno... the going rates that I see for a MS6 is around 22-24k for 5-15k miles.

not bad. I went and test drove a new Volvo C30 2dr hatch. VEry nice looking car but NOT a performance car even though it has a 2.5L 5cyl turbo engine. 227hp 236tq. Didn't feel any faster than my 175hp Audi. Maybe a little smoother but NO turbo feel at all.

The upside is that if you buy the car it's an "as ordered only" car. So you pay an extra $575 upfront and they FLY you to sweden to the factory to watch your car being built. YOu get to tour the plant and when it's done they let you drive it all over town. When you're done with your trip you take it back to them and they ship it back to the states for you while you fly back to the states.

I'd buy the car just for this feature alone. I could probably get one nicely equipped for about $28-29k and have a great vacation at the same time.

I'm talking to kiki right now about it but she's objecting pretty hard. I'm going to play the guilt card, the "I work hard" card anf if that doesn't work I'll play the race card.

The car is about a 7.8/10 but damn if it isn't sexy and a free trip to sweden would be AWESOME.

I was planning on being there as well. I'd be in my MSP. I think the tix are 75 bucks for all days if I heard her right. I went the first year it was at Road Atlanta and it was fun then. Of course, I was a wee little lad.

Also to anyone who lives in NE Georgia. I got a damn speeding ticket today on McGinnish Ferry. 62 in a 45. Since I have a CDL Class A, the officer was like "I'll bump it down to 59 so it doesn't show on your record." See, not all pigs are mean. Not only is my car bright orange, he clocked me with a laser. DAMMIT!

It's McGinnis Ferry Rd, right up the street from me. If you PM me your name I'll put you on the list of people to get free tickets from Mazda Motorsports. You'll have access to park in the Mazda Corral and meet the Tripoint and other Mazda team members as well as get parade laps. There is the possibility of free Mazda swag is in the air too. URGENT BUMP... I just bought another $300 in camping gear. I'm planning on getting out there around noonish on wednesday and need to see who will meet me when and where. What I need to bring, etc.

I'm going to be coming alone and the last thing I want is to be sitting on my *** in a tent for a day and a half waiting on you *****.
