Atlanta Region SCCA Auto-X 2003 Schedule

For those interested, here's the site containing the auto-x schedule for this year. IIRC, this list is to be changed, so keep an eye on it.

...hoping that I don't kill another car this season.

Hey Kevin, not sure if you're interested, but www.honda-tech.com racing/autocross forum has a pretty large contingent of active Atlanta autocrossers. If you've got some spare time, check it out. There's a joke "Atlanta STS shit-talking session" thread right now I added my bit about the Protege.
lol, what's funny is that it's true in regards to waiting in line, the number of people and the blingin' homies that show up thinking they 0\/\/|/|.

There's a bunch of good Honda guys there every week. I got to drive one (CSP CRX) at the last event of last season and it was a very fun, capable car.

Are you going to try and make it to any events up here this season? I hope not, because then I have absolutly no chance of seeing a first place spot that event :) . Now that I have a dedicated racer, I may try to make some events at different locations. How far is Gainsville, FL from Atlanta?

celi85, each event is $35 (I think) for non-SCCA members and $25 for members. It's very inexpensive. You don't have to be a member to run. However, only member's receive "points" which are tallied at the end of the year.

You'll find that attending one event will be rewarding and addictive. Autocrosses are very social events and you'll meet some very cool people.

4.5-5 hours from downtown Atlanta
Jesse, does your region have a website or can you point me to a schedule? I may attend an event or two there and a few in TN. I want to get as much track time as possible this season.

Yes, a helmet is required. However, they provide loners free of charge for those who dont' have their own helmets.

There are places locally to get them, but I am unsure of where they are or their names for that matter. Every few events or so, a distributor will be present selling helmets and assorted racng gear. That's where I got mine. I paid something like $220 IIRC.
