when? i might be up there for a show.

kcbhiw November-22nd-2002 02:43 PM

What date? There's an autocross 12/1 and another 12/15. Those might be good dates. Unfortunately, I'll be out of town for the 12/1 event.

kcbhiw November-22nd-2002 04:15 PM

It's held in the turner field parking lot. The course they are going to be setting up is very sweet. Check out the "Champion of Champions on the 17th" post in this section for the layout.

I'll be in town that weekend. I'll be staying in Morrow on my way down to Savannah.

kcbhiw November-26th-2002 02:37 PM

Dang..the one event that I'll be missing will be the one event where everyone attends, lol.

benf000 November-26th-2002 03:24 PM

Taken from http://www.atl-scca.org/soloII/2002winterseries.htm

For the Champion of Champions and two Winter Series events we will use this
schedule...

Setup: >From 7:30am
Registration: 8am - 9am
Drivers Meeting: 9am-9:15am
Novice walk through: 9:15am- 9:30am
First car out at ... : 10:00am

Tech will be done with two lanes in the grid , so that you drive from paddock to tech and back to
paddock to your parking spot to keep grid clear of cars. This will be done to facilitate gridding the
groups when we know them, which will be after registration closes.

Run Work Order : Run 1 2 3 Work 3 1 2

Groups 1 and 2 will grid when announced and when Group 1 drivers finish their last runs they will
proceed to paddock . This will allow space for Group 3 to grid and facilitate getting Group 1
drivers to their worker positions.
We will not have any breaks during runs, so please make sure you can organise lunch accordingly.
Don't forget water, especially when on course. And remember to check the weather report so you
can dress properly.

Cost: Members $25, nonmembers $30

So did anyone attend the auto-X? How was it?

kcbhiw December-2nd-2002 08:38 PM

With the cold Victoracers, I was only able to crack off a 53.3, but that was good enough to take E-stock by about a second.
That's an awsome time for the layout they used, very nice. I was able to pull a 62 (at the champion of champions event) with my Auto Escort LX on cold, corded BFG G-Forces :zzzzz: . I'll be co-driving an older CSP Civic at the Dec. 15 event. Hopefully they'll use the same layout so that I can see how I rank with a better car.

Will anybody be attending the 12/15 event?

kcbhiw December-3rd-2002 09:19 AM

, but it was a bit warmer apparently.
I don't know what he was talking about...it was bloody COLD. At noon it was like 33 with a 25mph wind during the Champion of Champions. The temp got up to about 43 and the wind calmed down just as the event was wrapping up. Go figure. Were there a lot of people there this time?

kcbhiw December-3rd-2002 10:16 AM
