Major coolant loss - need help

Major coolant loss - need help
Well, I need help. My car is dumping major amount of coolant on the drivers side, just below the valve train...I am suspecting that the head gasket is to blame but, I see no evidence of coolant and water mixing on the dipstick. Has anyone seen this kind of thing before and would anyone suspect the block?

I have a 93 1.8 SOHC. I had a similar problem. Turned out to be the thermostat housing gasket gave up and was dumping water. I also found my transmission cooling hoses were detirorating and losing water from there also. You might want to check out these areas. In addition check over your entire cooling system you may be surprised at what else you may find.

Coolant loss update
Well, all is not as bad as I suspect, it looks like a heater hose is split but, I am not 100% sure. I will need to remove the intake duct work to see down that far but, we had noticed some coolant squirtiing up from that general area...Here is hoping it is nothing to major.
