I'm planning on replacing the engine in my 2004 Mazda3. It's the sports edition, with the 2.3 liter engine and automatic transmission. My question is, which engines will swap easiest? Obviously another identical model would match perfectly, but what other model years of the Mazda3s would work? Would another 2.3 from another model work?
