Angry Auugh! My baby's been hit AGAIN!

Second time since I bought the car! This time a deer ran out in front of me on a busy 4-lane street. I missed, whew!
WRONG! There was a second one right behind it, of course. Slammed into my front quarter panel and dented it, ripped off the driver side mirror, one bounce dented the driver door, second bounce dented the rear passenger door and really messed up the rear wheel well and scraped up the rear panel.
So the whole driver side of my car, front to back, is now trash.
And worse, I'm gonna have to pay the deductable myself.
Oh, and no one got hurt. My daughter was in the back seat and it could have been much worse. Neither of us even saw the second deer, but it scared the hell out of both of us.
We're okay, so now I'm just pissed.

Good thing your alright! It just sucks the deer like rolled down the side of the car, it couldve been one hit and bounced off, but no, he had to keep going! And I'll take it the deer is dead? lol I like how youve already adjusted you sig accordingly...Hope you get it all fixed and cleared up!

Living in Iowa like I do, I have that problem on a daily basis. There is more deer in this damn state than anywhere in the whole US I swear. I've had a couple close encounters myself, so I invested in some of those "deer deflectors" or whatever they are. Basically one of those things you place underneath your car so the deer run away from you cuz of some sort of "deer specific frequency" ... crazy science. At least that gives me a little more peace of mind when I'm cruisin on the interstate.

Now for my unlucky encounter.

I live in a predominantly white trash neighborhood, and I'm an 18 year old driving a pretty much brand new car, which you really don't see very much in this little crap town. So someone thought it would be a great idea to sneak up to my car at night and scratch the **** out of the windows. Nice big gashes all over each window, beyondrepair and must be replaces. $500 deductible coming out of my pocket as well!!! First off I h ave to find the little motherf***er that did it and bust out his kneecaps though ...

Wow that sucks !!! How much is your deductible ?? If you do it right with the ins company you might be able to upgrade though, depending on how they issue the money....cheaper to buy new parts than to repair...that's what i did and ended up with a sport 20 bumper,MP3 wing, painted both and some extra money on the side

Living in the country I've found you will almost never find a dear by it's self. Always watch for the other on. And if you wait long enough you'll see the Buck after them. A friend of mine totalled his tempo the same way. It hit the front and rolled down the side of the car. We did eat him! The right sholder and ribs were untuched. HAHA I ate rode kill! Good to hear your ok!

Mmmmm ... road kill jerky ... YUMMMY!!!

The kangaroo situation's pretty funny though, kangaroos instead of deer ... how odd. My parents are in Sydney right now for about another week and they said the same thing. It just kinda boggles my mind thinkin about a kangaroo jumping out in front of you. Have you ever had one jump OVER your car by any chance? That'd be some sh*t!!!

Yeah, I was thinking along those lines. I'd like to add the OEM Mazda kit, but I don't really know quite how I'd go about doing that. So far, I've got one estimate of $2500-ish. The check from the insurance co is going to come to me--my deductable is $100. It's all side damage, though. The worst is the rear driver's side door where it meets the rear panel, right at the wheel well. I don't want to push for a whole new panel because of all the welds, I'm worried about fitment issues.

You would be cheaper looking for a whole door and installing it yourself..the quarter panel is the only part i would look at getting actual body work done to.

Here's what the estimate includes:
Fixing the front quarter panel--damage is relatively minor.
Driver door--replacing the outer sheath
Rear door-replacing the whole door.
Rear panel--pretty banged up but fixing, not replacing.

I would consider replacing the door myself, that's a good idea, but with power windows/locks I don't know if I can do the wiring myself. I'm Electrically Challenged.

Front quarter, just buy the new fender from a junkyard, same with front and rear doors..great thing is as long as the color matches you can look at sedans too..the power accessories is EASY...the wiring would already be in the door if you buy the door, and guess what ?? The harness just plugs in from the b pillar, just plug and play !! Guaranteed it would be cheaper than a body shop
