Exclamation Constructive Criticism

Whoah!!! It seems to me, that some people, not naming any names, don't take any form of constructive criticism very well. Well, actually, I wasn't even criticizing anything the other person had to say. If they re-read the earlier posts, they may see that. I was merely adding an afterthought, which, by the way, is what forums are all about (people sharing their opinions). Also, about the parts in question. No, you may not be able to find ready-made, off the shelf parts for everything you want to do to your protege: BUT , there are some crazy people out there that believe that one-off, custom parts can be fabricated at your local machine shop, for a couple hundred bucks. Wow, what a concept: custom parts, originality, advantage... And if your stomach(or wallet), is a little too weak to take on such an endeavor, maybe you could leave it up to the fellas at a not so local shop, such as Skunk2, or any other shop that would be willing to fabricate anything you want, for the right price. I don't think piston heads would run you very much, though. That's about all I have to say on the matter, as this will probably be deleted before anyone has a chance to read it. But one last thing, maybe some folks should spend a little less time in front of their computers, and a little more time being involved in the automotive industry. Thanks for listening.

I'll leave the thread open.(for now) I was requested to put together a list of aftermarket parts for protege's. This individual decided to go with an off-topic subject, and request me place something on the list that doesnt exist. Doesnt make sense. It wasnt a wish list. It's a list for noobies to see what is AVAILABLE,not something that is a "good idea".On top of that I gave a warning that any future off topic comments would be deleted and I did so.The whole being a member of the automotive industry thing ,that's probably the the most uneducated, retarded comment someone has made to me on this board. I work for Ford(owns Mazda) have been a member of this board from almost day one,and I probably forgot more about cars last week than you know. The mod list took me a lot of research and time to put together,if you think the list is incomplete give me a part and a manufacturer. If you want a wish list, make your own. and if you don't like it, too(fizzle)ing bad!!

Wink IT Guy?

First of all, I never requested that you put a nonexistent part on your list, (which I commended you on, by the way). I merely suggested that you mention lower compression pistons on some forced induction applications, since one of the parts on your list were higher compression pistons. I just don't think it wise to run 10.5/1 compression, if you plan on going anything over 7lbs. Sorry if I offended you and your knowledge on the matter, but I don't know if being a dealership's IT guy really qualifies you as being "in" the automotive industry. Now, see. That was a joke. Lighten up, guy.

Sorry, had to come back, couldn't help myself. And you're right; I don't know why I would question the technical knowledge of someone who can't even follow detailed wiring instructions for an ecu...

Well seeing as how lower compression pistons DONT EXSIST there's no reason why he should put that on the list . Also, I didn't see anywhere on that list where he mentioned running higher compression with boost. He just said both of those were for making power.

fwiw I ran 9.5cr on my turbo pinto with 23psi from a T3 on pump gas. The rods were forged and there was no detonation but CR has almost NOTHING to do with boost and being un-safe....engine reliability has EVERYTHING to do with maintaining detonation. You can run high compression and high boost as long as you control your combustion and charge temps....I know I've done it.

Thank You Matty.

Now please drop this dude before you make bad name for yourself on the board. Yes you are allowed to disagree with mods, however if I request we stay on topic(especially on a sticky thread),then I suggest you do so. Otherwise posts will be deleted. And that does not give you a right to make a whole thread in retaliation.

just fyi, I would've deleted your posts with no warnings or apologies if you were "junking up a thread".

I don't know you dude but you seem kinda argumenative and about half informed. It may be a good idea to just lay low for a while and study up on a few more things before trying to refute knowledge from more experienced members.

Also, you may not like Mac's credentials but I have a pretty nice resume and there have been more than a few times where he's had to correct me. The difference here is when he proves me wrong I apologize and move on.

Amen and well put. Im new to autos and to forums and both of you (mac and rodd) have my respect and admiration for what it's worth. To boot, I also have incredible amounts of satisfaction in my car and mazdas alike due to the overall soundness of this forum and many of its members..."chiao, my pretty misao!"

hahaha, I accept your challenge to race....just make sure to bring your checkbook!

"another one bites the dust"

p.s. did anyone find it ironic how HE started this thread about not being able to take constructive criticism and when I offered a small bit of advice he gets pissed and cries? Irony is sweet....
