MY powere steering gone?

Heya fellow Mazda lovers. I got a 1992 protege 1.8L SOHC and recently my power steering pump (i think) has been screeching at low revs. It first started screeching only after the rain or during the rain, now its most of the time. I replaced the belt, got a nice one, its nice and tight, but it still screeches, but only at low revs, then i rev the engine to about 3000 and its gone. It wont come back until i tap the brakes and stop and my revs are at about 700. Kind of weird if you ask me. i topped up my fluid, and got the seeler stuff, but its still screeshing loudly, it gets a bit embarrasing since its so loud at parking lots and other places where there are lots of people. so anyone know this symptom?
please write back guys

Serge

Sounds like the bearings are seizing up on you. Time to invest in a new pump. Is your rack/system leaking any? How low was your fluid before you topped it off?

WEll it was just below the minimum level, so i put the recommeded amount of sealer and topped it up as much as i could with fluid. and sometimes when i crank the wheel as much as i can then it lets out a little sqeeel. Are pumps pricy? are they hard to do yourself?
