I just bought a 1992 Mazda Protge LX. Its an automatic which stinks. I was wondering if there is any point to even bothering with an automatic. I have heard bad things about the first gen auto tranny. I plan on driving the car for a few months while my 323 is being repaired and upgraded then selling the Protege.

The Proteges body is good and paint is excellent (black). Im going to throw an intake on there for fun but I was wondering if I should go any further. I want to hear from people that own a first gen automatic.


Also the the brakes seem to suck. Is this common for the four wheel disc because I notice the rear brakes are very tiny. Ill go browse the brakes section but I was just saving time by asking in this post.
