tire size

I was wondering, I have a 2001 Protege ES 2.0, and i wanted to fit wider wheels. i wanted to stay with 16-17 in tires. What does anyone think of that? Thanks, this is my first post.

I think it's fine, don't get anything wider than 7.5" or you're going to rub pretty badly. I believe all of the racing harts are 7.5" wide.

p.s. I hope you're not concerned with speed or anything by putting such a wide wheel on the car. I went from my stock 16's to the mp3 17's and lost .3s in the 1/8mile.
