OMG...I was just read a kill on www.SVTperformance.com that said there's a Saleen Mustang that whipped a Supra with a T66 turbo. I mean WTF????? Maybe it's me, but here's the link. You check it out and you be the judge.

sure it's possible. i didn't watch the video, but i'm guessing it's a street race. if so, the T-66 probably didn't have enough time to spool up.
saleen + supercharger + nitrous can certainly beat a t-66 supra in a short race. |

But it's still hard to believe that he pulled on the Supra like that. And by the speed they were going, the turbo was already spooled up. Now, Depending upon the boost the the supra is running on, I believe a T66 Turbo can give anywhere from 60-220HP. Which proves my point....THE STANG WAS BLOWN OR SPRAYING!!!!!!

Nobody is trying to make excuses here. The Mustang is supercharged. You can clearly hear it. In reality what does it matter? Run what ya brung. The Supra just didn't bring enough.

There is soooo much bullshit in that thread.
That is actually a local acquiantances (spelling) car. He has about 60g in the car it puts down about 500+hp his name is Brad Mayo. His roommate also has Supra don't know the exact specs that recently dynoed near 1000hp at the wheels his name is Stephen Schuster aka element217. Both guys are very cool and are hp junkies like us. Run next to a Supra and the car just screams. A built Supra can run 9sec 1/4 with the a/c on and stereo pounding then go pick up the wife and kid gettin 30mpg without letting out a peep. You have to have deep pockets to own a Supra if you plan on modding it but it is known as being the fastest street legal car on earth to hte tune of 245mph. Supras lose. Mustangs Lose. Vipers lose. Even a Civic Si can lose. |
I didn't watch the vid (56k) so I didn't see the Saleen but the last time I checked, which was a few years ago, the Saleen S351 had a supercharged 351 and made 495hp. I think they stopped making the S351 a year or 2 ago.
