Yeah i know almost doesn't count, anyway i'm chilling at this light the other night listening to some tunes when finally after weeks of waiting to run a SPEC-V a black one with exhaust pulls up next to me beeps the horn and says (you wanna run) i was like hell yeah lets do this. First i want to say the reason he beat me is because of the (LSD) his car is equipped with. I know for a fact i would have beet him if i had one in my tranny also. anyway the light turns green and he instantly gets about a car length ahead (LSD). I had a little wheel hop. suprisingly by the time i thru my girl in 2nd he only had about 4ft on me (my car revs higher then his)but i stayed there up thru the gears to about 90mph when we had to slow down for the light coming up. We stop at the light and he was like holy shit dude you almost got me WTF you got in that thing. He asks me to pull over at gas station about 2 blocks where we were from so he could check out my car, I wanted to check his out too. We pulll over and i tell him the mods i have and he was like no wonder i usually blow away P5s then he was like man if there was more room you would have passed me. COOL. He also admitted getting his ass handed to him by a wrx 2 weeks ago.All in all he was cool and not ignorant like other import owners. You know who you are. BTW all he had on his car was an intake exhaust and lowering springs. For all you haters and non believers that dont think i almost beat this guy check my baby's mods below.She's not tuned properly yet either PEACE--- B,MP5:cool:

lol, well congrats, but those new Se-Rs are just sad over all, weighting 2900lbs, and that engine might be stated at 175hp or 160hp, but they dont put down shit to the ground....

hell my aged 1993 SE-R will hand the new SE-Rs their asses on a plate... SR20DE all the way! lol

but good job none the less!

I know a guy (jeez i know alot of people) with a new SE-R, ran a 15.1 with just intake, and I know another guy with an older boxy SE-R who bought the car with a shit load of mods and that cars best N/A is a 14.7

that sr20de engine is a quite capable engine, too bad they didnt put it in the new specv... instead they use the 2.5 liter altima engine that really isnt too strong i hear. the sr20de with a fuel pump will handle 100-120shot of nos, or up to 14psi boost from a turbo on stock internals, as ive heard. quite impressive id say!

but i still am quite surprised that you pulled against that specv,congrats once again

I own an 02' SpecV.
Ony been to the track once and I pulled a 15.28@90.61 which is about the average for a good driver. Best I have seen stock is 15 flat @91.
They dont weigh 2900lbs either at the track mine wieghed out to 2778 with a full tank of gas.
And I dont consider 145hp and 153tq at the wheels sad, considering that it is more than your protege has at the crank.

I'm not hating hopefully I will be getting a new mazdaspeed protege, but I hate seeing mis-information being spread.

**edit** Also, the LSD doesnt make a difference during take off. But it shure as hell helps when hitting the twisties at 70+ mph :)

ive only gotten to run against one spec v. well lets just say that i walked him. im not saying anything bad about your car cause i personally think the guy couldnt drive for shit. but he did have two other people in there. but still i walked him off the line as i was spinning my tires until i shifted into second then they gripped and even though i was barely pulling on him as i was spinning when second gripped it was all over. i walked him by about 2-3 car lengths then all of a sudden the oh so famous flyby. oh well it was fun. good job on keeping up with him. next time kick his ass:D

i kinda raced a spec-v a few weeks ago when i was following him he didnt pull away to hard but he could of been in the wroung gear cause we started at like 25 mph and got to around 90...Jon93 lx

when his car runs 15's and mine runs high 16's i would say it is a accoplishment i dont really care since im gonna strap a turbo in my car in a few months but it was still nice to see he didnt embarrass my 10 year old car

have you seen the new sentras??? we arenmt talking about the normal sentra. were talking about the spec-v. you know the180hp sentra. i think thats a huge accomplishment that he hung with it. i have the bpt and i beat him but my car is also lighter than his.:)

got any pics of this bpt mx3? is it a gtx motor or gtr?
