PR5 vs. slammed Civic 4dr and Integra

My friend and I were cruising around Tulsa (me driving) and came up behind a Civic and Integra, side by side, on one of the main roads in town. I flashed the Integra and he got over to let me race the Civic at the next light. The Civic seemed to be about a '95 or '96 DX, so I didn't think too much of it. Launched at about 3,000rpm with some spinnage, but had him at least a car length at the end of 1st, then about 3 car length through 2nd and 3rd.

At the next light I let the integra get in front of the Civic so he could have a shot at me. The Intergra was an older GS (I believe, it was debadged). Launched a little lower to avoid some wheel spinnage, but I bogged it. He took me by a length. Next light I told him I f'ed up the launch so he said we could race again. This time I launched at 3,000 rpm with even more spinnage than the first time, but still took him by a fender overall.

Both cars were slammed and had at least exhaust. I saw a couple aftermarkext guages in the Integra and various other interior goodies.

Overall they were both pretty good races. Needless to say, after wards I went up and looked at new Mercedes' (my friend's father has a German G500 and is wanting a new one)... Saw a G35 Coupe, a G55 AMG, and a Porsche GT2 (the dealer sells Nissan, Infiniti, Volvo, Porsche, and Mercedes Benz).

I'd say it was a pretty fun night ;)

Hah I love playing with the Civic DXes

One time I was racing one and I had 2 of my fat (literally, they're like 200 lbs each) friends riding in the car. This guy in a newer Civic DX came up to me and him and his girlfriend started looking at me and he started revving his engine. I thought, whatever, I have a full car, but I bet I could still take him. So the light turns green, I take off normally so as to make him think I wasn't gonna race. The Civic pulled ahead like a car length. By that time I was at around 3800-4000 RPMs and I knew that's where my torque was hiding. I floored it through the rest of 1st gear and caught up to him. At redline I shifted into 2nd, floored it, and took him by a car and continued gaining. Near the end of 3rd gear I had him by 4-5 car lengths. Yay!

:) Just dont get too proud of beating the dx's ... the d15b7 (92-95) engine is extremely weak (less than 100hp to the wheels..) and the d16y7 (96-00) isnt much better.. :) I know, ive got one..

Heh I'm not bragging that I beat a DX. It's just funny when they start revving the engine thinking "Protege? WTF is a Protege? I bet I can beat it in my uberfast Civic, yo!"

Even if he DID beat me... so what? Wow, one slow car beat another slow car. Boo-fucking-hoo!

I didn't buy the Protege to go fast. I bought it to take turns ;)

I am more interested in the GT2 than the races...
