was it a gt? what do they have now? 268bhp? almost as much power as an EVO in a galant chasis.....i love those new eclipses.....love racing them....they make me look good.

p.s. whats the curb weight on a new GT?? I bet it's like 3400lbs.

no, it wasnt the *newest* eclipse, just a newer one.. 03 or so..

just for reference the new MS6 is 3488 w/ 280hp 280lb-ft (@3krpms) so figure 16psi @ 3krpms in a mazda6 2.3L...should be interesting to see.

speaking of *playing* - my wife's cousin's boyfriend has an f150 with flowmaster exhaust... thinks he can outrun me ;) I was playing Forza motorsports, flipped past my Lancer Evo... he says.. hey, I outrun one of those the other day... i ignored him and kept flipping through my cars... my wife says "hey brad, what kinda car was that?" "i dunno, one like barry's, it had a cai and exhaust" - really... mazdaspeed and lancer look alike... hmm... my wife said, you aint beat that car... i said.. maybe it was a civic? he said.. i dunno, one of those compact cars... geez... he says i've had my truck to past the end of the speedo back around to drive? (speedo is 85 on those trucks right?) - then ask me what the fastest iv'e been... which i told him i had been 100 (wife was there :tooth: , actually been way faster once or twice) - anyway, i'm gonna just have to show 'em the power of mazda some day... think he would be a prob? (not sure if he has the 4.6/5.4, but i do know its an auto) :)

oh and he says the car raced him on a rolling start...

Meh, I seriously doubt he beat an EVO. That thing would be like 4 car lengths in front of a F-150 off the starting line. AWD...276hP...meh. He can beat your Mazda.

:) - maybe i will just race him down the road in front of my house, I'm @ the end of the road and its about a 1/4 slightly downhill, then goes back uphill, can see WAY down the road

My friend has an F150 with new exhuast on it, Inline 6 cylinder 5 speed, really high geared and My car keeps with his pretty good, espcecially top end...so im content with my cars power against high torque and outragously quick off the line trucks...

:) - i know his is a v8... or least he says so... so.. and i'm pretty sure its an '01 - and i was doing some *basic* figur'n.... pretty sure its an xlt (reg cab 4x4 sb) .. so...

4311 / 202 (v6) = 21.34 lb/hp
4311 / 231 (small v8) = 18.66 lb/hp (has flowmaster mufflers, not sure what that adds)
4311 / 260 (big v8) = 16.58 lb/hp

2800 / 170 = 16.47 lb/hp (not sure what mine is w/ mods... no cats, light flywheel, "cone" intake)
