Mustang GT (not the newest ones)

"Raced" my friends mustang GT (not sure what year, '00/'01?, i'll have to ask 'em) from a stoplight, did better than i thought i would... we shut down @ 55, and my front bumper was even with his front tire... i figured he would be a car length or so ahead...

played around w/ 2 cars this morning... funny stuff.... I was driving down Hwy 172, running 60ish, this dk green acura(i think it was acura) & black mustang(v6 i think) came flying by me (guessing 85ish or so)... well, this is near the end of the road, so i catch back up w/ them before the road merges w/ Hwy 72. its a yield sign, so you dont have to stop if there is no traffic. anyway, so, all 3 of us are sitting there waiting on traffic to go buy (3-4 cars, then NO cars as far as you can see)... Well, the acura floors it (angry bumble bee sound), and the mustang floors it, both of 'em go across to the left lane... i jump in the right lane and pass 'em both, fun!... well this makes the mustang mad (the acura turns off @ the wood plant) he comes flying back by me again (80ish in a 35...) I was hoping the red light caught 'em but, of course, green lights all the way, until he turns off @ hull to the left....

fun morning!

Awesome stuff!! That's exactly the reason I wish my P5 had at least some balls .. so I can mess with people's heads like that. Good kills bud :bt:

I just found it funny, they were "racing" and i just go by 'em in the right lane.

When i get my new rotors and paint my calipers yellow, i'll try pass'n 'em on 2 wheels or something :bt:

^ the mustang i passed got behind me on way home today (i took 1/2 day @ work)... well going through some curves near my house... @ lets say "65-70" (b/c he was riding my tail...) he loses control... i see in my rear view... a lovely drift, then a 360... reverse 360.. romp through the ditch... another drift.... and a final stop... sitting the right way on the road... of course, i turn around and go back and ask 'em if he's OK. he said, "yah, im fine... i felt it going... i was like oh $h1t!", tried to stop it and well, then i lost control" It tore part of his rear bumper off (guessing during the ditch romp). he said the had another car he was fix'n this one with... so it was no big deal... ok.....

anyway.. i go through this section of road ALL the time @ 60-65, w/ NO problems... it goes like this:
Long right sweeper downhill, shorter left sweeper, short right sweep, followed by immediate short left uphill turn over the hill, then a nice straight over a bridge, then back into some more fun curves.. he lost it during the 1st short right sweep, and there is no "straights" between any of these.

Your MSP...MUCH better handling car, way more predictable...

the live axle on a 'stang, with ANCIENT 4 point rear suspension is VERY unpredictable...on a tight corner, if there is a SPECK of uneven pavement, the whole axle likes to shift sideways...it SUCKS, especially if your used to a Protege....

I got around a corner in mine one time when it was wet(with traction control ON too) and it got loose on me, hopped a curb and popped both driver side tires...cost me $220 to get 2 tires...expensive lesson...would've been easy to handle in a FWD car

Hmm. If your car is stock the mustang driver musta had a bad launch or something. Nice kill, anyways.

Jackelope May-11th-2007 09:50 PM

its got a couple of mods ;) - i would say bad driver! but.. i know the guy, pretty good w/ cars, one who helped me change my rear motor mount, and he dirt track races, figure he would be *ok* driver.. but i dunno?

one of the reason i decided to autox, will not be tempted to do stuff like that ^
