Mp3 vs Spec V

This Saturday i went out to the local Racer hangout and ran into a couple of guys with a spec v and a mp3. I was talking to them for a while, and checking out eachothers rides. They were really impressed by mine so they asked me to be in their race team, i graciously accepted. The spec v was brand new and wanted to race the mp3 for fun so we tookit out to the country then the got it on. The driver of the specv is new at 6 spd so he wasa bad shifter, so that being said the mp and specv were pretty close, the mp3 jumped to a early lead but the V cought up and won by 1 1/2 car lenghts. They went a couple more times with the same results. Then of course it was my turn to go up agianst the mp3, i jumped out to a lead but the mp3 beat me by about 1 1/2 to 2 car lenghts. Then the party began spec v vs jetta vr4, spec v won. civic si vs specv , spec v won. the spec v is a fucken awesome car i want one.

uh... I think this might be the wrong forum to be praising the Spec V.

Just kiddin', the spec V is pretty fast. My step-mother has a Sentra SE which is pretty quick as well. I test drove a Se-R Non spec v and did not like it a whole lot. The cable clutch and cable shifter get really annoying really quickly. Also the 2.5L engine felt like a trucks!(isn't the redline below 5800rpm or something? i can't remember) I really prefer the looks of all the 3rd gen. proteges over the Sentra, especially the Mp3 and Mp5. With some camshafts, intake and assortment of other bolt-ons the Mp3 could hold with it in a straight line, but in the twisties the MP3 will hose a Spec V

my two cents on the spec-v

I test drove a red spec-v with the sound system and all the options and I have to say I was impressed. The only things I must gripe about are that flimsy cable-shifter ("am I in fourth or sixth?"), the styling (sentras in general look like potatoes on wheels), and the 6000 rpm redline ("I have to shift already!") Also, for all that power and showiness, I expected it to accelerate like a rocket, yet it didn't feel paricularily faster than my old Protege'. The ride felt the same as my Protege' with its stock suspension, yet the Senra probably has btter handling, (I didn't get to go to the extremes with a salesman in the car) so the car is livable. but if i were to go out and buy a new car in the near future, it would probably be the new mazdaspeed Turbo or whatever they want to call it today.:D I like the stying better and the MP3 last year was pretty complete, all it needed was a shot of Vitamin H, an LSD, and to be produced more. Hopefully the Mazdaspeed 3 (another alais) will be that.;)

Yes i agree about the Potaoe on wheels..ha ha. But the fact is that they are pretty fast to start off with but i agree i would much rather have a Mazdaspeed 3 then the potatoe. But lets face it until that maz3 is out we cannot compare them yet.

One thing the sentra does have ints way is the six-speed, but finding gear six is a challenge. Maybe after driving for a while you'd get used to it, but I like the feel of the solid linkage that Mazda and Honda use.
