I've been challenged

So this guy from around town wants to race my 97 lx. He's got a 95 Escort GT. My car is stock, and I'm pretty sure his is too.
Its just a straight line race. I'm fairly adept wat shifting, or so I like to think.
Any opinions??
I'm too busy to try and find 0-60 times and so on, but do you guys think I got a chance?? We've both got a 1.8l

Never mind about the 0-60 part I think I found something.

1993 Ford Escort GT 8.4 16.5

1995 Mazda Protege ES 8.7 16.6

That was the closest I could come to the years of both our cars.
I'm not sure of however, the accuracy of these numbers since it didn't cite a source.

take some weight off and get good fuel and i think you will be fine. Its going to all come down to the driver in this one if you both are stock:)

you both have the same motor, it will be even...

Word. It was planned for this weekend but we've got a foot and a half of snow so it'll probably be delayed for a while.
