Got my first ticket (not an exciting story)

90mph northbound on 101 in ventura somewhere. pretty clear road. i am careful in passing anybody, no going around on the right or anything. car comes up behind me pretty fast... i move over to the right to let him pass. he follows. OK, wtf, I'll slow down a bunch and move over another lane....he continues tailing me.... what the hell? what does this guy want from me?

guess what...RED LIGHT comes on, oh shit. handled it pretty well, I think, i was calm and gave him all the papers, so there wasn't any useless bantering, we both knew why we were there.

on the ticket, he only wrote "65+".... hmmm.

he put my age as 21, i'm only 20, LOL.

Now the hard part will be explaining it to dad. that's the address on my drivers license, where the citation paper gets mailed. :( Maybe he won't notice 3:00AM :D

I'm guessing this is gonna be at least $100 for the inital thing, then the cost of traffic school. Oh well. no new stereo system for me :P

If he put your age as 21 and you're only 20 then you might be able to get off, talk to a lawyer or something.

Suckage

Man... those cops trying to ruin our fun! I got pulled over coming home from Oregon, boring roads, nobody around. So I wanted to see what my stock 2000 Protege could do... I got her up past 100 and thats when I saw it.... Oregon State Patrol with his radar gun catching me at 101.... I also played it cool but on the inside I wanted to peel out and zoom zoom outta there! Oh well... explaining that to my parents was fun....:dunno: so was the 300 dollars I had to pay!

My one and only ticket was for doing 84 in a 65. I sat there and had a friendly conversation with the cop for about 20 minutes hoping that he might let me go or reduce the speed on the ticket. Then he said he had to get back to work and gave me my ticket for 84mph. What an ass. It was a $160 ticket. And I told my parents by leaving the ticket on the kitchen counter when they were asleep. And then not leaving my room the next day till about 3pm. This way they had hours of time to calm down.

2 weeks later my friend gets pulled over for doing 70 in a 50. The cop asked him if he knew why he pulled him over. My friend said, "Yeah, I was speeding." The cop replies, "You were doing 70 in a 50. Now don't do it again." And that was it. No ticket or anything.

it all depends on the mood of the cop. if he just got layed or got a BJ then he will be in a good mood and will probally just give you a warning. But if his g/f or wife bitched him out that day your gonna pay for it. that is just they way it is. i got caught doin 55 in a 25 and got let go b/c " i lived in town. but i got caught doing 75 in a 25 and got a ticket.

Don't worry, I'm being careful! I don't want a warrant out for arrest for failure to appear in court or something. LOL

Yah...I've gotten 2 tickets. I guess I'll never learn. The first one was driving down to Florida for spring break. I couldn't even make it out of the state without getting a ticket. 24 over in a 65, but I was slowing down when he got me. I noticed I was going a little fast for Indiana.

My second one was on a road in Illinois. I got caught going 39 over...I think. I can't remember and don't really want to. All I know is that it's cheaper to get a ticket in Illinois than in Indiana. It was $150 for that fast in Illinois as opposed to $120 for 24 over in Indiana. Got more bang for my buck in Illinois.
